Edged Weapons Defense by Steve Tarani – USCCA

November 5 @ 8:00 am - November 6 @ 4:00 pm

Learn the critical skills for self-defense against an edged weapon attack with your bare hands as well as with your own knife. What type of knife should I carry? Where should I wear my knife? Learn the importance and “how to” of “rapid access and deployment” as your fixed, folding or curved blade is useless to you in a self-defense situation if you can’t access it, get it out from its carry position, opened and ready for use. You will also be introduced to the curve blade (Karambit) – how it is used, the advantages over a straight edge and what makes the curved blade such a unique defensive tool employed at conversational ranges. Instruction includes: the advantages & disadvantages of fixed/ folding and straight/ curved blades, safe handling procedures, unarmed defense against edged weapons, disarming techniques, distance/ injury risk metrics, leverage & blade mechanics, wound analysis & effects, target & defensive anatomy.
